And why does this tree have multi colors? And why is it’s skin smooth instead of rough? And what is a tree anyway? How is it different than a shrub or a forb or a grass or…? And does any of this matter when I look at it and feel its beauty.
That is stunning! We have no native deciduous trees on mainland Aus, but some of the eucalypts change colour and drop their bark. I’ve never seen anything that striking though!
Well thank you Kate! The trunk texture looks a bit eucallyptie, but the leaves confused me. I found this one growing in Hawaii. Glad to know it’s origin.

Thank you Glen! Another mystery. I think you are the one best suited to research this one.🙂
I must agree, though, only the beauty remains.

They call this ‘rainbow Eucalyptus’. I have been meaning to look it up for the Latin name.

Found it – Eucalyptus deglupta. Native to PNG and the Philippines, but not Aus. I wouldn’t have guessed it was a eucalypt.
